A “Ben” of All Trades
As a kid, Ben Davidson always wanted to be a quarterback. Davidson’s love for athletics was introduced to him at a young age. Growing up as a San Diego Chargers fan, he loved watching players like LaDainian Tomlinson and Philip Rivers dominate the NFL. Davidson’s father also pushed him throughout his youth to kickstart his career. His dad used to be a football coach at Mira Costa High School.
“Every summer we would go watch the two-a-day practices and I was just interested by it,” he said.
His fondest memories of elementary school were during lunchtime, where he played football with his friends. He attributes this to football becoming a pastime activity. Davidson has been on the PVHS football team since his freshman year. He is also a third baseman on the varsity baseball team making his schedule packed. However, Davidson is dedicated to both academics and athletics because of his work ethic.
He takes multiple advanced classes and has managed good grades throughout high school.
During the offseason, Davidson makes sure to condition his body to be ready for the next season.
He said, “I make sure my arm is in tip-top shape but playing baseball helps a lot with that. I am always throwing and making sure I’m on time with my passes to my receivers.”
“Ben always wants to throw with us even after practice ends,” added Varsity football player David Lee, “He really takes his job seriously and is always trying to improve his game.”
Davidson also appreciates the brotherhood that surrounds the football team. He loves scoring touchdowns but he enjoys being with his teammates the most.
He stated, “Football has taught me a lot of valuable lessons since my freshman year, the quarterback position taught me how to work hard and the friendships I have formed in this program will last a lifetime.”
