Dodgers Come Close to Win

This past week the Dodgers have had an exciting World Series face off against the Houston Astros.

At time of print, the Dodgers and Astros were tied with three wins apiece, bringing it to Game Seven on Wednesday night.

This is the first time in 29 years that the Dodgers have played in the World Series.

This year the Dodgers had a great regular season.

Over this season, the Dodgers had 104 wins and 58 losses, which makes for a 64.2% win percentage.

They were in first place in the National League West for three months of the six month long regular season.

The Dodgers swept the Diamondbacks in the first round of the playoffs with three wins and zero losses and outscored the Diamondbacks in the series 20 runs to 11 runs.

The Dodgers then beat the Cubs in the second round of the playoffs with three wins and one loss. The Dodgers outscored the Cubs in the series 28 runs to 8 runs.

In game five, Dodgers player Enrique Hernandez had three home runs, which secured the series for the Dodgers. He hit a grand slam and racked up seven runs batted in (RBI), a record for the Dodgers.

The drought of the Dodgers not making the World Series has created Dodger fever throughout Los Angeles.

People are showing their love for the team with their team apparel and even bumper stickers on cars.

This World Series wasn’t cheap for fans.

On StubHub, a ticket reselling web site, the cheapest tickets for the seventh game were close to $800.00 and seats right behind home plate were at least $10,000.00.

Some game tickets for the seventh game exceeded $30,000 per seat.

Sophomore Max Leeds said that he, “went to the first game of the World Series and it was worth it. ”

The Astros had a great regular season too with 101 wins, 61 losses.

They have fought hard to win and like the Dodgers, have not given up.

In thhe first World Series game the Dodgers won 3-1. In the second game the Astros came back and won it 7-6 in the eleventh inning.

Dodgers lost their third game 3-5. In the fourth game the Dodgers won 6-2. In the fifth game the Astros beat the Dodgers in the tenth inning 13-12. Dodgers brought it back home to LA and won their sixth game 3-1.

This year’s World Series has been one of the most exciting in recent history.

Last night was the first time ever that a best of seven game series was decided at Dodgers Stadium.

Whatever the outcome, everyone can agree that it has been an exhilarating World Series full of ups and downs.
