Sophomore Sander Alley strode to the mound and provided the relief pitching to secure last week’s win over Torrance 8-4. The Point briefly spoke with Sander about his game.
What is it like being a sophomore on the Varsity baseball team?
It is pretty cool. There are a lot of good experiences.
Are you the starting or relief pitcher?
I am both this year. I have only pitched in relief this year.
Will you be starting soon?
I think I will be starting tomorrow at our game against El Segundo.
Who are the athletes on the team that performs in the clutch?
Everyone has been contributing, even the subs.
What do you think of the baseball team?
It looks like a strong season. Last year we were a .500 team, hopefully we will make the CIF playoffs this year.
