It has become practically impossible to ignore the popularity surrounding Block Blast. From the crowded school hallways to social media, this mobile game has seemingly blown up overnight, grabbing the attention of many. You’ve probably seen someone playing this game in at least one of your classes by now with their eyes glued to the screen.
Block Blast has quickly become a global sensation with students actively trying to beat each other’s high scores whenever and wherever they can.
Whether it’s during lunch, between classes or discreetly under their desks, this game has made its way into many students’ daily routines. But is Block Blast just another fleeting trend, or could it actually offer meaningful benefits for students beyond just simple entertainment?
Block Blast has been shown to stimulate the brain, helping students stay mentally sharp and healthy.
Similar to Tetris, this game has also been proven to enhance your logical abilities and train the brain by requiring the players to strategize and think ahead.
Block Blast especially has been shown to help reduce stress and soothe anxiety by providing an engaging distraction from things that would usually stress students out like grades and work, giving them a moment to relax and reset their minds.
Freshman Luca Spinosa currently has the high score of 187,209 as of the end of January. The average block blaster who would play every to every other day usually scores between 10,000 and 30,000.
“It really relieves stress and when you’re bored it gives you something to do. Compared to other games I’d say it’s relatively productive even” Spinsoa said.
Aside from the psychological benefits, this game gives students the chance to connect with each other, bonding over this mobile game and encourages friendly competition.
