Taylor Swift Surprise Album?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know the name Taylor Swift. With over 275 awards from her 5 international best-selling albums, she is indisputably one of the biggest stars of this generation. From her younger country days of her album ‘Taylor Swift’, to selling 1.287 million copies of the pop phenomenon ‘1989’ in its first week, Taylor Swift has been on the scene for a while, and fans have been taking notes. This October fans (or as they call themselves, Swifties) are speculating that the 10-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift will drop a surprise album on October 22nd-23rd. Sound familiar? Maybe you’re thinking of that time Beyonce dropped Lemonade and the world flipped upside down. I, along with other Swifties, have compiled a list of evidence for a new T-Swift surprise release record.
Her first album ‘Taylor Swift’ was released on October 24th, 2006, and every album since has followed an October 2 year pattern (minus “Fearless”, which was released on November 11th, 2008). “Speak Now” was released on October 25, 2010, Red on October 22, 2012, and her most recent and successful album 1989 was released on October 27th, 2014. Even though fearless was released in November, it still follows the 2-year pattern that Swift has talked about before in multiple interviews. With that being said, her 2 year break time is up, and it’s about time for another record.
There have also been clues released by other celebrities such as her supermodel squad member Gigi Hadid. When being interviewed about Swift attending her Tommy X Gigi show, Gigi tells Entertainment Tonight, “She’s obviously such a great friend, and you know she is starting to go back to work in the studio again, and really made time to be here for me, and I am so grateful for that”. Another supermodel friend, Martha Hunt when asked about rumors of Taylor’s new music replied, ““You won’t be disappointed. That’s all I’m gonna say”. Another reliable source, Scott Borchetta (the founder of Big Machine Records and discoverer of Taylor Swift) had some suspicious tweets. A fan tweeted him and asked if fans would hear any new music from Taylor Swift to which he replied, “NOPE” on August 9th. However, he later deleted the month old tweet, and that got fans thinking maybe Taylor has something up her sleeve.
Speaking of sleeves, the next piece of evidence was when a fan emailed Taylor Nation (her managers and representatives) and asked if they were going to restock her 1989 merchandise. Taylor Nation responded with by explaining that although they were not going to restock, they would have “new merchandise” by November/December. Lastly, the digits of the date October 23rd, add up to 13, Taylor’s favorite number.
While these all may just be coincidences, it’s interesting the numbers (literally) add up just right. My best advice? Fans and haters, get ready for the Swift storm that may arrive this October.
