Get Your Spook On
Southern California is home to three of the most popular and scary amusement parks in October.
Due to the busy schedules with school and outside activities, many Sea Kings may not realize that Halloween is just around the corner. If you’re planning on doing something spooky but entertaining with your family and/or friends, here are some of California’s best amusement park Halloween haunted events.
Knott’s Scary Farm
Located in Buena Park, California, Knott’s Scary Farm is a seasonal Halloween event in which the entire theme park is turned into 160 acres of horror. This year, the event began on September 22 and closes on October 31. With 13 haunted attractions and 1,000 monsters scattered around, it is the largest Halloween event to be held at an amusement park. You can purchase the admission at as low as $40, or you can choose to buy a pass for $90 and create your most horrifying and spooky memories with your friends every night at Knott’s Scary Farm. Sophomore Aloha Komatsu who had experienced this event this past said, “At first, I was terrified by all the zombies, but as I got used to it, I started to enjoy the time with my friends.”
Universal Studios Horror Nights
Located in Hollywood, this year’s Universal Studios Horror Nights is characterized by seven new frightening mazes followed by many more attractions such as The Walking Dead attractions, terror tram, new Jabbawockeez show, rides, and scare zones. You can get discounts if you purchase tickets online, but they’re flying away rapidly, so make sure to get it secured as early as possible!
Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest
Located in Valencia, Six Flags Magic Mountain will celebrate its 24th season of Fright Fest. The astonishing haunted rides and attractions includes the large, exciting outdoor maze along with the two new scare zones. In addition to uncountable roaming zombies and ghostly shows, this year they have added extra scariness by turning off the lights on the monster coasters and leaving the riders to face fear in the darkness. The event runs on selected days from September 17th to October 30th. Daily admission starts from $54.99 and the season pass is as low as $79.99.
