Palos Verdes is considered one of the most scenic places in California, with a variance of sites to see. The Malaga Cove Weekend Art Fairs is one place that truly captures the beauty of Palos Verdes. The art fairs feature locals’ works, and range from paintings of the coast to handcrafted jewelry.
The fairs began over thirty years ago as a way to display the works of local painters, photographers, and artists. Once a month, the Palos Verdes Art Center displays some of their works at the Malaga Cove Plaza, near the Neptune Statue and the Malaga Cove Ranch Market. The fairs allow citizens to explore some of the Art Center’s works in a closer location, and are even up for purchase.
The Palos Verdes Art Center is made up of eight groups, each taking turns displaying their works of art. Some of these artists have been participating since the beginning of the fairs, while others bring fresh styles to the event. If one would like his or her artwork displayed they can contact the Palos Verdes Art Center to find out how to join in.
The works featured by the artists include photographs, oil and acrylic paintings, ceramic bowls, and handcrafted jewelry. Each work of art has an extraordinary amount of detail and precision. Artists are inspired by both local and general surroundings, with each work of art being as unique as the artists themselves. From paintings of the magnificent coast, to ceramic art reflecting the wondrous trees, to jewelry as crystal blue as the sea, these artists display the magnificence that is Palos Verdes.
The Malaga Cove Art Fairs are the perfect place to find that special artwork for your home and make great gifts. With all the glamour of Palos Verdes and beyond, and the precision and talent of the artists, the art fairs display the true beauty of the people and environment in Palos Verdes.
